Intense motivational talks with learners at Maths Centre Head Office

Maths Centre (MC) projects are designed to correct, restore & enhance education for maximum impact.

MC is embarking to motivate more and more learners to take and pass Maths and Science as a subject, particularly in the quantile 1-3 schools. Despite the current low state of maths and science uptake in schools, there is much that can be done to encourage interest.  The best way to do this is through education.

From Saturday, 10 March 2018 we have been hosting the string of motivational talks spearheaded by both the Centre’s CEO and the funders for 2018 Matric learners.

Maths Centre (MC) projects are designed to correct, restore & enhance education for maximum impact. We have embarked on intense motivational talks with learners at our Head Office, Braamfontein in collaboration with our project funders.

The teacher and learner development programme helps to educate parents and the school community on the inherent value in these subjects. These individuals play an important role in a young learners’ life and can have a significant influence.
They are in the ideal position to encourage and impose their knowledge to influence positive behaviour. Exposing students – and teachers – to inspirational role models and environment is definitely a step in the right direction.

If the issue is not treated as urgent we will find ourselves outsourcing services overseas to fulfil the local demands and still be stuck with the same problem in future.

MC is appealing to more potential donors out there, especially the corporate sector to invest more on STEM to develop pragmatic solutions as there is generally a lack of understanding of what is needed in the curriculum and what’s needed in industry in terms of skills.
