CYCLONE IDAI CHILDREN'S RELIEF FUND
Victoria is just one of almost 1 million children whose lives were turned upside down by the high winds and devastating floods that destroyed whole communities in Mozambique. Across the country, 1.85 million people are in need of aid, as are hundreds of thousands more in Zimbabwe and Malawi.
Victoria's home was destroyed when Cyclone Idai tore through her village on March 15. She now lives with her grandmother — and 10 other people — and hasn't been back to school because she lost all her books along with everything else.
Right now, girls and boys are desperate for food and shelter, medical care and emotional support. They're threatened by the outbreak of diseases like cholera that occur from contaminated water — and they'll need a way to return to learning, even where schools were destroyed or are being used as shelters.
With your support, we'll continue working around the clock to help these children and their families.
We've chartered a helicopter to reach inaccessible areas with supplies like food, tents, hygiene kits and water purification tablets.
Our Emergency Health Unit is doing all it can to provide access to health care and prevent disease outbreaks.
We're helping reunite children who were separated from their families.
But we can do none of this without you. All of us at Save the Children are deeply grateful for the outpouring of generosity that's making our work for children like Victoria — children who have lost everything — possible. Even a small gift will make a difference.
On behalf of the children, thank you!
